I am both a classically and modernly trained Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Practitioner. I utilize all health and lifestyle habits both past and present to gain a better understanding of my patient. I really enjoy taking my time to understand the individual I am working with and use that information in my treatments. There are a multitude of approaches I may use and it is dependent upon the person I am working with, as each treatment is individualized. In these treatments there could be a combination of any of the following: Acupuncture (with or without electrical stimulation), Moxibustion, Cupping, Tui Na, Gua Sha, Herbs or Herbal Formulas, Auricular Acupuncture and/or Ear Seeds, Laser or Mechanical Stimulation, Acupressure, Heat or Cooling Therapy, Medical Qi Gong, Dietary Therapy (includes suggestions for using food as medicine, vitamins, minerals, and nutritional support) and most importantly patient education. Even though I am a TCM practitioner, I do use other Chinese medicine systems for treatment like Dr Tan or Master Tung style acupuncture and also Five Element Theory.
I have worked and enjoy working with a multitude of types of cases, to say I focus in any one area would be limiting my scope of practice. Acupuncture is universal in its applications and I love how it addresses several aspects of a person’s health in each visit.
Currently I am working on obtaining my Diplomate in Oriental Medicine (a national exam that includes Chinese herbal medicine as well as acupuncture) and specialization in Reproductive Medicine.
