Veronica Cheverez

"Practicing acupuncture is so very rewarding to me because I am able to witness the improvements in my patients health and overall wellbeing."
-Veronica Cheverez, EAMP, L.Ac

Licensed Acupuncturist and East Asian Medicine Practitioner
National Board Certification in Acupuncture

Veronica sees patients in the Tacoma office on Saturdays.

She is currently IN NETWORK with Premera, Aetna, Humana, TriWest and Coordinated Care.

I am both a classically and modernly trained Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Practitioner.  I utilize all health and lifestyle habits both past and present to gain a better understanding of my patient.  I really enjoy taking my time to understand the individual I am working with and use that information in my treatments.  There are a multitude of approaches I may use and it is dependent upon the person I am working with, as each treatment is individualized.  In these treatments there could be a combination of any of the following:  Acupuncture (with or without electrical stimulation), Moxibustion, Cupping, Tui Na, Gua Sha, Herbs or Herbal Formulas, Auricular Acupuncture and/or Ear Seeds, Laser or Mechanical Stimulation, Acupressure, Heat or Cooling Therapy, Medical Qi Gong, Dietary Therapy (includes suggestions for using food as medicine, vitamins, minerals, and nutritional support) and most importantly patient education.  Even though I am a TCM practitioner, I do use other Chinese medicine systems for treatment like Dr Tan or Master Tung style acupuncture and also Five Element Theory.

I have worked and enjoy working with a multitude of types of cases, to say I focus in any one area would be limiting my scope of practice.  Acupuncture is universal in its applications and I love how it addresses several aspects of a person’s health in each visit.

Currently I am working on obtaining my Diplomate in Oriental Medicine (a national exam that includes Chinese herbal medicine as well as acupuncture) and specialization in Reproductive Medicine.

What Patients say?

Veronica’s treatments have drastically improved my quality of life. We have addressed everything from menstrual cramps, to migraines, to insomnia. Her passion for her craft shines through in her compassionate and attentive treatment, ans she has always been happy to share her knowledge with me anytime I have questions.

I tried Acupuncture after I was involved in a car accident and comparing the acupuncture and chiropractic treatments, I need to say I feel much better after the acupuncture treatment. The pain in my body is much less and the tension is gone. It is amazing! Thank you Veronica for the care and help

My treatments with Veronica have made all the difference in the world since my achilles tendon surgery. The treatments are helping with different aspect of my recovery: patience, pain management, fast recovery and relaxation. I am very lucky to be able to get these treatments. I cannot imagine going through this surgery without them.

Veronica has been my acupuncturist for over the past year. Three years ago I was in a car accidnt which caused chronic neck, shoulder, and spinal pain, plus the onset of fibromyalgia. I would not be able to work with my condition if I were not under her care. Veronica also works with my doctor and insurance companies. Not only does she treat my injuries, she treats my whole body. I recently started menopause and she has been able to stop all of my symptoms and the women in my family tend towards horrible symptoms. I would definitely recommend her to anyone who is looking for an alternative approach to Western Medicine.

I first visited Veronica after she was recommended by a friend. I was tired of seeing the Doctor for lower back and hip pain and being told to take pills and wait weeks for it to get better. After my 2nd visit it became easier to get moving again. I just had my 5th visit and I am no longer dealing with pain in my problem areas. Veronica is totally focused on me as a patient and she poses thoughtful questions to clarify all facets of my condition when I arrive. Her warmth and care are just two of the reasons I’ll continue to return to improve all aspects of my health and well-being.
